Developing Creativity
Participants explore a wide range of techniques from Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, learn how and when to use them to help themselves and other people, and the basic neuroscience behind them that makes them work.
The sessions are punctuated by work in breakout rooms where participants talk through the ways in which the content relates to them and how they can put it in place.
Mindfulness Zooms are taken by Beth and Tina, with two volunteers supporting.
One to Ones
1-2-1s are one-hour sessions with a member of the team. These can be used to talk about concerns, follow a mindfulness / wellbeing plan, go through lines for one of the plays, undertake a creative endeavour – whatever is most needed. And they are absolutely flexible and bespoke.
Members pinpoint the 1-2-1s as a real help in getting their anxiety levels down. The words that are most often used are that the sessions keep them ‘coping’ and ‘improving’. They also talk about the importance of ‘sharing’.
The 121s also feed directly into the high standard of the shows, as they give people a chance to go through lines, practise songs and talk about characters. And they provide an underlying support – if someone can’t remember lines in a rehearsal, they no longer get upset with themselves because they know it will be sorted out in their next one-to-one.
